Have been reading about the launch of the new 'Berliner' version of the Guardian over the last couple of days. The new edition was launched yesterday and has had a complete redesign - the size is halfway inbetween a broadsheet and a tabloid (much easier to read on the bus!) and there is a brand new font. I also think it's less inkier on the hands, but apparently that's not consistent. There's an interesting Editor's blog that has blogged all the steps of releasing the new edition (not the whole redesign process though - that's taken about three years!).
One link I found quite useful on the blog was to Newseum, a site which has the front pages of 470 newpapers from 46 countries - it seems very up to date.
