team blogging!

Following the very successful presentation about blogging that I gave to my department last week, I've set up a team blog for us to use. The CBK blog will give keen people a forum to discuss blogs, RSS, wikis and other exciting technologies! I just hope that I can keep my two blogs separate and don't post messages about some gig or restaurant that all my colleagues can see!

queuing!

As someone who has inadvertently started a queue just by milling around, I loved this article from the Guardian about the appeal of queuing.

Haven't seen any of the famed petrol queues yet though!

current!

Have been reading about the launch of the new 'Berliner' version of the Guardian over the last couple of days. The new edition was launched yesterday and has had a complete redesign - the size is halfway inbetween a broadsheet and a tabloid (much easier to read on the bus!) and there is a brand new font. I also think it's less inkier on the hands, but apparently that's not consistent. There's an interesting Editor's blog that has blogged all the steps of releasing the new edition (not the whole redesign process though - that's taken about three years!).

One link I found quite useful on the blog was to Newseum, a site which has the front pages of 470 newpapers from 46 countries - it seems very up to date.

at the Square & Compass, near Swanage

We visited the lovely Square & Compass pub near Swanage last weekend. This is taken at the end of the night so we're looking a bit tired and emotional - from left, Corinna, Will, Sue, Mhairi and Felix.
